The John and Doris Campbell Library

The library includes a physical collection of over 6,000 items such as books, reports, journals, journal articles, maps, and more.
The library also provides digital access to resources that support research and scholarship focusing on the Institute’s theme of “Education for a Sustainable Future.”  The library’s collection includes a focus on research conducted in Monteverde.

We are delighted to announce acquisition of our newest resource, EcoAmericas, a monthly report on development and environmental issues in Latin America.  We have access to current issues and all the back issues.  Access to the full text of articles is restricted to MVI affiliates and alumni, and requires a username and password.  Please contact Marlene Campbell at the MVI Library to obtain this information. Our subscription has been generously donated by EcoAmericas and the University of Vermont

MVI Digital Library Initiative
The MVI Library is proud to feature full text searchable digital library collections that focus on Monteverde-based research.  Developed with state of the art digital library software donated by the University of South Florida Libraries, and with labor generously donated by the University of Vermont Libraries and the Syracuse University School of Information Studies , these digital library collections make local research fully accessible to all.

The development of these important digital collections has been possible due to initial financial and technical support from the Dr. Kiran Patel Center for Global Solutions at the University of South Florida, the USF library, and the Bell School Foundation.

Available digital collections include the Monteverde Water Collection and the Sustainable Futures Collection, The Community Health Collection will be launched in 2009 and a Tropical Ecology collection will be a future focus.
