The John and Doris Campbell at MVI
John and Doris Campbell LibraryCompleted in 2002, the Campbell Library supports scholarship and research by providing both physical and digital access to information.  The Library was funded through the generous support of John and Doris Campbell, one of the original founding Quaker families, other Campbell family members, the Donner Fund, and members of the Monteverde community.  In addition to a physical collection of over 6,000 items that include books, reports, journals, journal articles, maps, and more, the library also provides digital access to resources that support research and scholarship focusing on the Institute’s theme of “Education for a Sustainable Future.”  The library’s collection includes a focus on research conducted in Monteverde.

Computer lab and high-speed wireless access: The Library provides computers for student and public use, all with Internet connection and frequently used software (including graphics packages).   Users have access to scanners, CD burners, printers, including a color plotter for maps and other large graphics, as well as a photocopier, fax machine, and projectors.  Wireless Internet access is available throughout the main campus.

MVI Digital Libraries Initiative
With financial and technical support from the Dr. Kiran Patel Center for Global Solutions at the University of South Florida, the USF library, and the Bell School Foundation, MVI is developing open access digital collections that corresponded with our areas of focus
.

The first piece of the digital collection is the [Monteverde Water Inventory - link], which includes grey literature, reports, maps, photos, and links to published articles related to water and Monteverde.  Subsequent collections include Sustainable Development, Community Health, and Conservation in Monteverde.

Monteverde Water Inventory
This collection brings together available information on water issues in the Monteverde zone.  Items include grey literature, maps, photos, student papers, and bibliography on published research. The Monteverde Water Inventory was made possible through support from the Dr. Kiran Patel Center for Global Solutions at the University of South Florida and the USF library.
